Ill Al'issdar
In March of 2020, I was contacted to create a pair of logos for the new urban clothing line, Ill Al'issdar.
The brand aims to tie the youthful UK urban culture with the mature style & details of Arabic Architecture.
The Center of Inspiration
I drew direct inspiration for the logo from the Ka'bah, a building at the center of Islam's most important mosque, the Masjid al-Haram in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
I did this as a nod to the founder's belief in Islam.
The Challenge of Translation
Creating this set of logos had me facing the unique challenge of mimicking an English  Typeface and translating it into Arabic Text.
I searched through a large variety of scripts and fonts, looking at the various renditions of the Arabic spelling for Al'issdar.
This helped me gain a better understanding for the Arabic letterforms in order to avoid any misinterpretations.
